Ballet and Western
I was fortunate to spend part of my childhood in Texas, where the Western Culture left a lasting impression on me. The energy and grit of rodeo and cowboy culture fascinated me, and I embraced the challenge of capturing that world on canvas—its raw movement, strength, and timeless character.
Ballet and Western may seem very different yet they share many qualities. These paintings explore the elegance and intensity of dance, the delicate balance between control and freedom, grace and strength. One of the greatest joys of this work is finding ways to translate motion into stillness—using brushstrokes, light, and composition to convey rhythm and flow.
Together, these bodies of work reflect my fascination with movement in its many forms—whether on horseback in the arena or on stage under the lights.
